Kabale University students represented their institution in the 5th Virtual Youth Convention 2023 held on Friday, March 31st, in the State House-Entebbe, Kampala in Uganda. The convention was graced by Maama Janet Museveni, the First Lady, and the Minister of Education in Uganda. The event was organized to provide a platform for young people to share ideas and experiences on how they can positively impact their communities.

Among the students who represented Kabale University were HE.Diaz Drake Owoyesigire, the Guild President, Ainembabazi Precious, the Deputy Prime Minister, Kagume Sam, the Guild Minister of Justice, and the 6th Vice Guild President. They showcased the University’s commitment to empowering young people to become agents of change in their communities.

The convention featured several speakers, including the Deputy Inspector General of Government, Mrs. Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, who is the Chairperson of the Uganda Christian Lawyers Fraternity (UCLF). The UCLF is an association of Christian legal professionals and students that was started in 1986 as a fellowship of Christian law students. The organization has since grown to over 500 members, working in different facets of justice, law, and order.

During the convention, participants discussed ways in which they could grow in wisdom every day and use their gifts and talents to serve God and others with wisdom. They also explored ways of supporting and encouraging others who are walking on sacred foundations with wisdom.

In an interview with Diaz Drake, the Guild President, he expressed his excitement at representing Kabale University at the convention. He said that the experience was a great opportunity to learn from other young people and share ideas on how they could contribute to the development of their communities.

The convention ended with a call to action for all participants to use their knowledge, skills, and talents to bring about positive change in their communities. It was a great success, and Kabale University students showcased their commitment to promoting positive change in their communities
