As the guild race continues at Kabale University, it’s confirmed that four strong men are looking forward to winning so that one of them takes this magnificent seat as a guild president. We are all aware that every individual has the best field in which he/she is gifted best and this earns him support from the students. Someone could be an eloquent speaker, humble in character, good at service delivery, and concerned with student affairs. Nevertheless, these individual instincts and attributes are not enough at the university level to be the reasons why a candidate could score highly in an election.
After in-depth and critical research, we found out that a candidate’s manifesto contributes a lot to gaining massive support from students. The way it addresses the student’s problems and the possible solutions capture the student’s attention and in turn, they vote for the one with a student-centered manifesto that has achievable ideas, not empty promises as most politicians do.
That is well elaborated, a manifesto is a written document in which a group of people, especially a political party, explains their beliefs and say what they will do if they win an election.
WE TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THE COMMON ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THE MANIFESTO FOR ALL PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES.
We have to keep in mind that most ideas in the manifesto are always student-centered and they must bear the following crucial concepts i.e. academics, health, social affairs, security, religion and spirituality, security and welfare, and lastly games and sports.
Generally, all presidential candidates addressed these issues and promised to work hand in hand with the administration for better service delivery and accountability so as to make a university community happy and good for every individual acquiring an education.
